This footstool frame was designed to provide the needlepoint enthusiast with an alternative medium to which a round needlepoint design may be attached and displayed. They are well constructed. They are for ornamental purposes and should not be used for standing on.
The footstool frame measures 16" in diameter at the bottom foot profile and 16" in diameter at the top. It measures 5-1/8" in height and was designed to hold a 12" design.
The footstool frame is manufactured by highly skilled local craftsmen using premium American Red Oak and Canadian Maple.
No particle board or imitation wood products are used.
Several coats of a durable finish are applied to enhance and help protect the natural wood. The finish will not rub off or stain any fabric that it might come into contact with.
The footstool frame comes completely assembled.
The plywood 14" round top mounting plate can be easily removed to allow for the upholstering of the completed design.
It is suggested that a background border of at least 2" be added to the design to allow for the cushion material. The ground fabric should be needlepoint canvas and a continental stitch should be used in conjunction with a good quality wool yarn.
The footstool frame is available in oriental black (shown) or deep red mahogany fade resistant colors or with a clear oak finish.
It is highly recommended that the customer purchase the footstool frame "PRIOR" to purchasing a design pattern and stitching materials. It is possible for slight changes in wood grain/color to accentuate or subtract from attributes of a completed stitched pattern.
